Dar Bjorn Gala Raises An Incredible €200,000 To Support New Respite Centre

The Dar Bjorn Charity Gala raised a whopping €200,000 for their new Respite Centre which will cater for a larger number of patients living with ALS and other neurological conditions.
The event was held among the historic beauty of Kalkara’s Villa Bighi. The people truly came together as an extraordinary testament to the power of community, philanthropy and hope. The event brought together some 400 guests including leading figures in iGaming alongside stalwart members of Malta’s local business community, to celebrate a shared mission.
From the moment attendees stepped into the candlelit courtyard, the evening was alive with a sense of opulence and entertainment. Guests enjoyed the sounds of Malta’s celebrated Versatile Brass Band. Guests also enjoyed a bespoke whiskey tasting station featuring Perkors, a custom-crafted spirit created exclusively for DAR Bjorn, offering a sensory experience for the night’s elegance.
The gala’s purpose was to raise vital funds for DAR Bjorn’s forthcoming Respite centre, the charity’s third property designed specifically to provide care for patients living with ALS and other neurological conditions. Since its founding in 2017 by Bjorn Formosa, DAR Bjorn has provided free, round-the-clock nursing care and specialised therapies including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech-language pathology to its residents.
The event was co-organised by NEXT.io, BGaming and White Label Casinos. The leaders of these companies have been inspired by the outstanding work DAR Bjorn carries out for people living with neurological conditions in Malta. Apart from the organisers, there were at least 30 organisations that came together to pledge sponsorships to the event.

The auction and raffle accounted for a significant share of the €200,000 raised. Among the items auction, there was a breath-taking canvas co-created on behalf of BGaming by two Brazilian artists, Enivo and Lobot, which ignited bidding wars and ultimately sold for €22,000 which was the single highest bid of the evening. Building on this momentum, the celebrated digital artist, L7Matrix contributed two pieces, each fetching €20,000.
