Jaden’s Story: How Inspire Helps Families Navigate Autism- And Why The Marathon Matters
Mark your calendars! The Bżonnok Marathon in support of the Inspire Foundation is happening on Sunday, 3rd August, and it’s set to be broadcast across all major TV stations.
Inspire Foundation is a local organisation dedicated to building a more inclusive and equal society for individuals with disabilities, including autism, cerebral palsy, and other conditions. Through a wide range of therapeutic, educational, social, and recreational services, Inspire helps people of all ages reach their full potential, no matter their challenges.
“Jaden practically saved my life,” his mother says.
As a tutor for children with autism at Inspire, she was already familiar with the signs. When Jaden was born healthy, she was filled with relief. But as he grew older, she began noticing certain behaviours, small things that others may have missed.
“There were a lot of people that saw him talking, communicating, etc. but they never saw the things he struggled with.”
Raising Jaden has shaped every part of her life. “When I say he saved my life, it’s because he keeps me grounded, realistic. He teaches me what love is every day, what patience is. He has a lot to teach me.”
But that deep love comes with fear. “For now, I’m here to hold his hand and protect him, but there will come a time that I won’t be able to be there for him anymore, and that scares me a lot.”
What gives her hope is the support and care Jaden receives through Inspire. “I have a big love for Inspire. The programme is very near to my heart. I know the importance of the early years.”
Jaden is thriving, he takes part in regular events and activities, and gets along well with both teachers and tutors. “They do so much for the kids, and they love them so much. They try to understand them so much that I didn’t want him in any other place. I couldn’t imagine him at another place with any other programme.”
His father credits Inspire with helping Jaden reach key milestones. “I thank Inspire for having done so much with Jaden. Through him, I see that with the help of the school, he reached places where he needed to be. The fact that I see that difference in my son is all thanks to Inspire.”
