A Tribute To Doris Axisa, The Sliema Florist Everyone Will Miss

Nothing but love for the sweetest lady in Sliema

Doris Axisa

Last Friday we all read the sad story about 66-year-old woman who died after falling unconscious in Comino. But to the residents of Sliema the news hit a lot closer to home than they'd expected.

Doris Axisa, known to many as 'The flower lady of Sliema', was a beloved member of the community, known for always having a smile on her face and helping everyone in any way that she could.

Taking to Facebook to inform her mother's friends of the sad loss, Davinia Anne Axisa asked that everyone who's attending the funeral next Tuesday to dress as colourfully as they possibly can, because her mother "hated black".

A few minutes after the post went live, hundreds of comments poured in as family, friends and even strangers spoke fondly of the many good memories they had of Doris, and how kindly she treated each and every person she encountered.

Doris' funeral will be held this Tuesday, August 30th at 9:30am at Ta' Fatima, Gwardamanġa. As mentioned above, her family has requested that everyone attending doesn't wear black.
