ALS Hero Bjorn Formosa Is Building A ‘Bigger And Newer’ Dar Bjorn
Bjorn Formosa, the inspirational Maltese man afflicted with the motor neuron disease ALS has decided to take his battle against the disease in Malta to the next level. After completing Dar Bjorn in 2017, to mass fanfare, the wheelchair-ridden man has decided to open an even bigger house for those afflicted with ALS.
“It’s a long way to go… but we will get there. The newer and bigger Dar Bjorn is a mammoth task which in these stages may seem like a crazy idea. My health status has deteriorated dramatically in the past weeks and we still need to raise a massive amount of funds. But we can’t give up. This is something huge, unique!” he said in a public Facebook post.
Bjorn pledged his “last energies” to getting this project off the ground
Even though Bjorn is facing one of the most degenerative diseases known to man, regularly posting about his condition, which is often deteriorating, he has dedicated himself to raising awareness about ALS. The new Dar Bjorn will not only be able to raise that awareness, but also provide support to Maltese patients who live with ALS.
His next step is a fundraising funds event on Xarabank amongst other fundraising events
“I promise I will give my last energies, resources, all I possess to this project. In the first week of October we will be raising funds on Xarabank to make this dream come true! It is too big of a project for us to fail. The lives of many, depend on this! Together we can really make a difference!” he said.
