Black Lives Matter! The Nine Most Iconic Signs From Yesterday’s Protest
Yesterday’s ‘Justice for Lassana’ protest united countless individuals in a collective fight against racism. People from all walks of life sought to tackle the issue at hand in a variety of whacky, creative, and unconventional ways. This was especially evident through the signs present at yesterday’s demonstration.
Having said that, these are our nine favourite signs from yesterday’s ‘Justice for Lassana’ protest.
1. The Clown Sign
This sign intricately dismantles one of the most problematic Maltese idioms… and about time.
2. The P*ssy Sign
Undoubtedly a unique way of justifying why you shouldn’t be deported – acceptable nonetheless.
3. The Trading Sign
Now THAT’S a deal we can all get behind.
4. The Judicial System Sign
This statement is as relevant today as it was a year ago – although for different reasons.
5. The Pastizzi Sign
I think we can all agree that punishing racists can start with getting rid of their pastizzi privileges.
6. The Love-Thy-Neighbour Sign
For a nation that prides itself in its kindness and solidarity, Malta still has a thing or two to learn about loving thy neighbour.
7. The Love Sign
Love is love. It’s as simple as that.
8. The Ftira Sign
Although the concept of equal rights should be a simple enough concept for pretty much anyone to understand, this sign compares it to something we all know and love – the delicious Maltese ftira.
9. The 2020 Sign
Last but not least, this person perfectly encapsulates our feelings towards this rollercoaster of a year.
