By Female Entrepreneurs, For Female Entrepreneurs: Malta’s Businesswomen Unite For New Social Hub

Tough competition has always been an integral part of business, but when the odds are stacked up against you, a little bit of collaboration can go a very long way. That’s why a group of Maltese women are coming together to connect local businesswomen from across the island, with the hopes of balancing it all out.

Social Hub Entrepreneurs, or, poetically enough, SHE for short, state that their very aim is to “bring women in business together, to connect engage and inspire”. In fact, even with such stiff competition out there, SHE still prefer collaboration over everything.

It all started with self-confessed social media addict Julia Perry of You&Media and health & fitness blogger Sarah Woods of FitMaltaMums.

“Our opening event was held in May of last year at Sanya with approximately 30 guests,” Sarah told Lovin Malta. “We had Yasmin Degiorgio (of The Grassy Hopper, Theobroma and Sanya Spa fame) along with Maria Moller (owner of Retail Concept Store Fly the Fly Vintage) speaking at the event, which turned out to be a great success.”

Fast forward one year, and the organisation’s latest networking event a couple of weeks ago saw over 120 attendees engaging a panel of special guests Jo Caruana, Carla Grima, Vanessa Coleiro and Maria Camilleri (representing the gracious hosts Camilleri Paris Mode).

SHE have organised a number of workshops and networking events over the past year.

One such initiative saw Perry and Woods organise a specialised workshop on ‘How to Win at Retail’, roping in Fly the Fly Vintage’s Maria Moller one more time. “The workshop was another success, but it’s been decided that we’ll be focusing our attention on larger Networking events for the time being,” Sarah told Lovin Malta.

With the impressive rate of growth and the amazing initiative driving it all, SHE is definitely only getting started. And if you’d like to stay tuned to what’s next after the last five successful events, we’d recommend keeping one eye solidly on the official Facebook page.
