Virtu Ferries will deliver a 40ft trailer’s worth of goods to Caritas to be distributed to families most in need during the Christmas season.

The supplies shall arrive in Malta on Wednesday upon one of the company’s vessels, St John Paul II, in Kalkara at approximately 12:00pm.

In their announcement, Virtu Ferries wished “all the volunteers at Caritas a peaceful and joyous Christmas and once again expresses sincere thanks to the front-liners at the Ministry and Department of Health for their selfless dedication to control this pandemic”.

This year, with the pandemic’s effects being felt across the island, many of Malta’s charities who strive to help prevent poverty and aid those in need are struggling. Lovin Malta learned earlier this week that charities like Caritas are helping three times more families than they did last year.

All the help that can be provided is wholeheartedly welcomed, not just in the Christmas season – but year-round as the pandemic continues to wreak havoc upon countless lives here in Malta and around the world.
