Former And Current Malta’s National Footballers To Meet Public In Unique Fundraiser
Do you want to meet some of the best footballers Malta has ever produced whilst doing a good deed? An event happening this Sunday is a perfect win-win opportunity for you to do both.
Over 60 former and current football stars will be attending the fundraising event in aid of Caritas and you are invited to join.
It will run from 10am until noon at the Arena Club in Qrendi. Those who turn up will be asked to make a donation.
Mgr. Victor Grech and members of Caritas will be among those present.
Many stars are expected to show up, including Michael Mifsud and Carmel Busuttil (Il-Bużu), the two most-capped footballers and the two top goal-scorers in Maltese history.
Other attendees include former Brentford player and Malta manager John Buttigieg, Ray Vella (Il-Mundu), Jimmy Briffa, and 86-year-old Joe Cini, who had a short spell with Queens Park Rangers in the late 1950s.
Ħamrun Spartans’ 24-year-old midfielder Matthew Guillaumier is the youngest confirmed attendee.
Fans will be allowed and encouraged to get autographs and take photos with them.
