Free Course In Malta Will Train Youth Workers In ‘Mental Health First Aid’
We all remember our tumultuous teen years, and all the pressure that came with them. As awareness on the issue of mental health continues to grow, we begin to realise that in some cases, problems at school or home are more than just hormonal tantrums, but could be signs of mental health problems developing.
With this in mind, the Richmond Foundation will be offering a free Mental Health First Aid Course for Youth Leaders, Coaches and Workers, to help identify these issues early on, and prevent the situation getting worse.
Funded by the EU, the project will run for a limited time only and is open to everyone from teachers to scout leaders, youth workers to sports coaches.
Apart from helping to recognise the early ‘warning signs’, the course will also show participants how to deal with youths who have a history of mental illness or some form of longer-term mental health problems.
To apply, all you need to do is head over to this link and register before the 3rd of September.
