The dreaded walk to your exam classroom can sometimes be the most daunting part of exam season, but one teacher has gone out of her way to make sure her students know their worth before an exam.
Ms. Nadette, from San Ġorġ Preca College Ħamrun, hand-wrote a series of encouraging messages to line the walls of the staircase leading to the exam chamber. From asking other students to be quiet and respectful during the sitting, to reminding the kids that they are smarter than they think, this small gesture made a world of difference to the Year 6 students.
Comments under the post were flooded by grateful parents thanking Ms Nadette for her work, as well as many well-wishers sending positive vibes to the students.
“You made me cry this morning,” one wrote. “This is the definition of empowerment.”
As we grow older, certain memories from our childhood remain strong, and gestures like this from teachers we care about are carried with us for the rest of our lives.
