Hundreds Of General Soft Drinks Employees Praised After Registering As Organ Donors
Hundreds of General Soft Drinks employees have registered as organ donors as part of a campaign to raise awareness on organ donation.
The 210 employees have pledged to give their organs to those in need after their death as GSD and the Health Ministry continue to raise awareness on organ donation.
During a visit to their factory, Health Minister Chris Fearne was presented with the registration forms of the employees. During the meeting, Fearne praised the initiative as well as the workers for their altruistic behaviour that would help others in need, and looked forward to other companies following suit.
”I am proud of the fact that three out of four workers employed at GSD are registered organ donors. According to information received by the Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne, this tallies to one percent of the all registered organ donors. I encourage all of you to sign up for this noble campaign and become organ donors,” said Maria Micallef, CEO of GSD Marketing Ltd.
Organ donations can be life-changing to those who desperately need a transplant
People living with particular health conditions or who have a specific ailment in an organ and need a transplant to improve their quality of life are oftentimes at the mercy of the availability of their needed organ.
Becoming an organ donor means that your body would go on to greatly help other people, giving back to the community even after a person has passed on.
