Santa’s Little Helpers: School Students Visit Mater Dei’s Children’s Ward To Spread Some Christmas Cheer

The students at the San Ġorġ Preca College know that Christmas is more than just receiving presents – it’s about giving them too.

Last Tuesday, students and staff paid a visit to the Pediatric Ward at Mater Dei Hospital to spread some Christmas cheer…

… in the form of gift donations and carol singing.

Gifts included colouring books and crayons for the children of Wonderland, which the school purchased after collecting donations from a coconut ball bake sale held by students and staff.

“More gifts came in today for tomorrow’s visit to Mater Dei Wards! Class 1.11 topped up with the following gifts after that they last week prepared and sold coconut balls. With the money collected they purchased these toys to give to kids recovering at hosiptal! Special Thanks to these students, their teachers and LSEs! Well Done!”

Not only did they buy them gifts, but they also left them some heartfelt notes too, with words of encouragement to get them through these difficult times.

This kind gesture by the San Ġorġ Preca College shows that there’s a little bit of Santa in everyone and the best gift of Christmas is, in fact, the gift of giving. It was also super beneficial for the students too, who had to work together as a team and exercise their various skills to make this all possible.

This is what Christmas is about, well done!
