The Maltese Association of Social Workers have released a set of 10 proposals  to the political parties ahead of Malta’s snap general election this June, in a trend that keeps growing around the island.

Just this week, Maltese NGO BirdLife released 10 proposals of their own, all centered around the country’s environment.

MASW’s proposals include the introduction of therapeutic residential treatment for children and young people, after-care services for children placed in alternative care, and gender equality family support services. Promoting a positive image of social work and investing in the sector even more does of course also make an appearance. The full list of proposals can be found on MASW’s page.

If you want to make sure these proposals and many others are on the political parties’ manifestos, we’ve just launched What Floats Your Vote?, an online platform that lets voters choose the proposals they want to see introduced and email them to their districts’ candidates.
