Gwardamanġa’s Blood Donation Centre To Remain Open Tonight As More Donors Are Desperately Needed
The National Blood Transfusion Services can’t keep up with the demand for blood in all of Malta and Gozo, despite thousands of blood donations made last week.
An urgent call for blood donations has been issued and there’s an appeal to the public to donate blood today. As a result, the Blood Donation Centre in Gwardamanġa will remain open until 9pm.
The centre is located outside St Luke’s Hospital and it opens daily from 8am to 6pm, weekends included.
Blood drives are taking place in the coming weeks, including; February 27th at Playmobil, Ħalfar; March 1st at Central Bank, Valletta; March 3rd at Berġa, Xewkija (Gozo) and at the Żejtun Parish Church; and March 5th at the Computer Square, Mosta.
Find out who can donate and where you can donate on the National Blood Transfusion Services website.
Those donating blood should bring their ID card, passport, or driver’s license along with them.
