Stanley and Ieva originally met through a dating app.

Fast-forward to two years later, as the music man himself was rocking it out at the Glastonbury festival, the BBC One cameras cut to Stanley getting onto one knee, with millions of people watching the live wholesome moment.

“I’m happy it was caught on camera because I honestly can’t remember what happened for the rest of the concert as I was in shock and processing it all,” the now fiancé, Ieva, said.

Stanley proposed during the song ‘Tiny Dancer’ which is both Ieva’s favourite and a song which often happened to pop up whenever they were on dates together.

“If I picked ‘your song’, I was certain that we would somehow end up standing next to another couple proposing in the 200,000 strong crowd,” Stanley said.

Stanley proposed using his mum’s engagement ring, which his dad had given her at midnight, at the turn of the century, on 1st January, 2000.

“He passed away not too long ago so the ring had added sentiment,” Stanley told Lovin Malta.

Both of them expressed how happy they are to have found each other, and what a thrill it was to share such a memorable and fulfilling moment at the festival.

“This was not only my first Glastonbury, but my first festival in general! And what an experience that was,” Ieva said.
