Disgusting Photo Proves Malta Still Has A Big Problem With Garbage Management

Article Featured Image

Garbage management has always been a pressing issue in many Maltese localities, and while fingers have been pointed at various institutions over the years, we can’t disregard how important it is for everyone to pull the same rope. A post on The Salott this morning showed us just that, in the saddest way possible.

The shocking photo was reportedly taken at Balluta Bay, where a massive pile of rubbish (mostly made up of cardboard boxes) have been lying around an overflowing bring-in site, essentially blocking off the entire pavement.

“In Sliema, the bins are overflowing,” said one person, with another pointing out how “that means rubbish is not being collected.” Many urged the person who posted to call the Local Council and report this issue immediately, while others said that, sadly, this is not just the case in Sliema.
