Bathers Warned Of Water Contamination At Wilga Street, Sliema

Bathing is not recommended at Wilga Street, St Julians due to an overflow of foul water.

The Environmental Health Directorate (EHD) within the Superintendence of Public Health issued a statement notifying the public on 14th July saying that the overflow of foul water came from below the rocks.

The Environmental Health Officers are currently investigating the area to determine the source of contamination. The EHD said that the duration of the contamination cannot be predicted and that until further notice, bathers should avoid the area.

The exact site code is B05 Wilga in Wilga Street, St Julians and signs have been fixed in the area. When the quality is restored, the signs will be removed and another press release will be issued by the EHD to notify the public that the site is fit for bathing.
