A local environmental conservation group is set on doing regular clean-ups, focusing on different forms of illegally dumped waste.

The organisation, 7R Lifestyle Malta, has just hit its 89th clean-up, as it gathers another 25 bags worth of construction and domestic waste from Għar Lapsi.

During just one year of clean-ups alone, 50 different counts of environmental criminality were identified in Għar Lapsi.

Its main aim is to work to get closer to a sustainable lifestyle by applying the 7R’s of sustainability.

The 7R’s of sustainability can be classified as, rethink, refuse, reduce, repurpose, reuse, recycle, and rot.

During the clean-ups, they also investigate the illegally dumped waste to try and figure out its origin and identify the environmental criminals.

Recently it even worked on a video to offer the different classifications of illegally dumped waste, from plastic to construction dumping.

Check out the organisation’s Facebook page here, as it continues to investigate environmental crimes.
