From Malta To India On Foot: 12,000 Kilometre Journey For Climate Awareness
Jaydip Lakhankiya will be starting a 12,000 kilometre walk from Malta to India to raise awareness about climate change and to inspire action for a sustainable future.
Jaydip is an India national from Bhavnagar who is no stranger to backpacking journeys after he toured India for 182 days with almost no money.
During his journey, Jaydip will be crossing 20 countries over the course of a year and a half.
“I choose to walk rather taking transport because in a world driven by speed, emissions and consumption, I chose to slow down-to walk-as a symbol of what we urgently need: A shift from carbon emitting to carbon neutral,” Jaydip wrote in a statement.
He is currently building his social media presence to spread awareness about climate change and about his upcoming journey. He also plans to post one video per day to share what he sees along the way.
