About 15 tonnes of waste from yesterday’s St. Patrick’s day celebrations have been removed just hours after the last drunken person stumbled their way home.

At least six different organisations teamed up to tackle the insane trash leftover by the massive street party in Spinola Bay. Cleaners from the Paceville Town Centre Management under the responsability of the FTZD – Foundation for Tourism Zone Development, the Malta Tourism Authority, Kunsill Lokali San ?iljan, The Malta Police Force, Transport Malta and Clean Malta – Cleansing and Maintenance Division got busy throughout the night and early morning.

They got to work cleaning up the mess left by the thousands of people who took to the inlet to party as DJs rocked the crowd and copious amounts of alcohol were consumed.

However, much of the alcohol was served in plastic cups, which littered the ground until early this morning, as well as numerous other items that were discarded onto the road.

Several people, including the St. Julian’s deputy mayor, had taken to social media to lament the sheer amount of leftover trash

In fact, Albert Buttigieg even said the time has come for St Patrick’s to find a new home.
