‘It’s About Making It A Habit’: Cami Appelgren Highlights How Simple New Bottle System Is

Ranger and environmentalist activist Cami Appelgren has highlighted how simple it actually is to be mindful of waste management in Malta.
Her social media post came about after Malta just launched the new BCRS machines, which gives citizens the opportunity to get some cash back for discarding their plastic, glass and metal bottles.
Sharing photos of the simple process, she explained how you just need to collect your bottles, take them to the machine, and get your vouchers in return.
“It’s very simple guys. It’s about making it a habit. Keep bottles, bring a bag when grocery shopping, and pay with the vouchers. It’s REALLY that simple,” she said.
“Our trash, our responsibility. Just like everyone should make it a monthly habit to visit a Civic Amenity site to dispose of items when running other errands, you take your bottles and cans when going grocery shopping.”
Addressing those who still use packaged water plastic bottles, she urged them to make the switch to refillable water or Reverse Osmosis systems.
“As a Swedish person brought up with this system (it was introduced in 1984), this is like Christmas day for me,” she said, referring to the BCRS system.
“It all makes sense and most importantly – it will make nature cleaner. Trust me!”
Have you tried out the new BCRS system?
