Malta’s Planning Authority Campaign Just Boomeranged Into A Brutal Meme

Several mock ads making fun of the Planning Authority’s recent educational campaign have highlighted the differences in what Maltese society thinks the PA should be doing, and what the PA is doing.

Their #Irrestawradarek Educational Campaign advised on, among other things, what kind of colours one should paint the facade of their house, as well as how things like tiles shouldn’t be used on a townhouse’s facade.

“Colours are beautiful… but not all are appropriate for the facade of your townhouse. Tiles look nice… but the facade of your townhouse is not a bathroom,” the campaign said in one of their ads.

However, their campaign was quickly ridiculed on social media, and now a number of mock ads are doing the rounds

“Above all, our interest lies with the developers, always, first and before anything else”

The mock ads highlight the things many people believe the PA should be focused on, such as protecting the countryside and residents

The first batch of ads, with feature the PA’s website url as well as a unique hashtag – #FottiPajji?ekEducationalCampaign – have just been released, with no word on whether the campaign will continue as the PA continues to make unpopular decisions.
