MDA ‘Sensitive To Families’ Needs’ And Therefore Backing PA’s Proposed Regularisation Of ODZ Property
The Malta Developers Association has backed the PA’s proposed amendments that will further allow the regularisation of property in ODZ land.
“The MDA is sensitive to the needs of these families, it will therefore be backing the legal notice and will be submitting some slight amendments to improve said legal notice,” it said.
It continued to say that this amendment will help thousands of families which currently cannot regularise their only property.
“The legal notice amendments issued for public consultation are a measure that will assist those many families that today cannot regularise a property within an ODZ area,” it continued.
“These are properties which although covered with a building permit, have nonconformities that were allowed to take place over a number of years.”
However, it also stated that its members are categorically “not interested” in the reguralisation of property in ODZ, adding that developers buy within the development zone and apply according to planning policies.
“The MDA was and will remain against any time of development in our countryside,” it stressed in the press statement.
