Moviment Graffiti Halts Tree Removal In Mosta Square, Plans Protest At Local Council Tomorrow

Activists from Moviment Graffiti gathered in Mosta Square this morning protesting against the controversial uprooting of trees which sparked widespread concern across Malta.

Holding signs with messages such as “Leave the Trees Alone,” “Are You Going Crazy?” and “Traitors of Mosta Residents,” the activists made their stance clear.

“We have just stopped the works to remove the trees from Mosta square. We are here, join us,” Moviment Graffiti wrote on its Facebook page.

“Tomorrow a protest will be held in front of the Mosta Local Council at 6.30pm,” the activist group announced.

The decision to uproot the trees led to an outcry in Malta, with various entities and individuals condemning the action. Footage of birds disoriented after returning to find their nesting places gone is also being shared on social media.
