Nadur Nadif Community Takes On Comino Island In Latest Clean Up Mission

The Nadur Nadif environmental community headed to the tiny island of Comino in its latest clean-up held this weekend.

The Gozitan group covered three specific areas on the island, and while only a handful of people were involved in the cleanup, they managed to make it a success.

“Last Saturday we had the opportunity to organise a relatively small clean-up on Comino where we managed to collect 12 garbage bags from only three specific areas – and to be honest, we haven’t yet skimmed the surface,” Luke Said told Lovin Malta on behalf of Nadur Nadif.

“Knowing that the main aim of the Natura 2000 initiative was to ensure the long-term survival of Europe’s most valuable and threatened species and habitats. It was a pity to see some areas that are completely covered with garbage,” he noted.

“Thus, it is crucial that the required authorities take action to make sure that the environment and ecosystems of Comino are conserved.”

Nadur Nadif is a local body created to educate the public to appreciate public cleanliness, often organising clean-ups in different localities.

Well done Nadur Nadif!
