Pristine Imgiebaħ Bay Left Littered With Overflowing Rubbish Bins

The pristine bay of Imġiebaħ in Mellieħa has been left littered with overflowing rubbish bins and trash on the ground.
Photos sent to Lovin Malta show trash bins which were left to overflow, effectively defeating the point of having bins, to begin with.
“What is the Mellieħa local council today? Why do we pay taxes?” the man who encountered the scene questioned while speaking with Lovin Malta.
He continued by posing the question of why there are even garbage bins on a wild beach, stressing that people should be responsible for taking their own trash back with them.
“Why are there even rubbish bins on a wild beach?”
“People should take their shit back home not leave it there. So let us not give them an option to leave it there. Remove the bins completely like abroad,” he suggested.
Imġiebaħ bay is one of Malta’s most untouched beaches, mostly due to its lack of accessibility, which requires visitors to walk down to the beach.
