Valletta Green Festival Is Back And St George’s Square Has Been Completely Transformed

Valletta Green Festival 2025 has officially launched, and St George’s Square has once again been turned into a lush, colourful garden in the heart of the capital.
This year’s installation features two fountains, large trees, hundreds of shrubs, and thousands of vibrant flowers, creating a relaxing and scenic space designed for walking, pausing, and reconnecting with nature.
Speaking at the launch, Minister for National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government Owen Bonnici described the festival as a clear example of how “art, nature, and community can come together to create vibrant and inspiring spaces”.
He added that events like this help foster “a sense of collective responsibility towards our environment,” while also raising awareness among families and younger generations.
Jason Micallef, Chairperson of the Valletta Cultural Agency, said the festival continues to showcase how culture can help shape a more sustainable future. “It’s a practical and engaging way to bring people together and focus on what truly matters — our environment and our regeneration on every level.”
