Watch: ‘Her Memory Will Bloom’ – Garden Set Up In Honour Of Young Traffic Victim
A garden dedicated to the life of a young traffic victim was set up in St Paul’s Bay and inaugurated last week, with footage being shared of the peaceful space.
Energy Minister Miriam Dalli posted a video of the Kacey Sciberras Garden earlier this morning which was created to keep 17-year-old Kacey’s memory alive after she tragically lost her life in a traffic accident in 2023.
“The Kacey Sciberras Garden stands as a tribute to a beloved young woman whose kindness and joy touched many. Her memory will forever bloom in this special place,” Dalli wrote on social media.
Kacey was an adored young woman who took joy in participating in local events. She was very active in the locality’s festa and was even part of the Feast Committee of Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs in St. Paul’s Bay.

“I know how much she loved St. Paul’s Bay and the contribution she gave to this locality. Therefore, I encourage the public to come and make good use of this open space,” Dalli said last week during the inauguration.
This garden is accessible to everyone with the introduction of pathways and picnic benches specially adapted to wheelchair users. The 2,700 square metres of open space would have otherwise been used for commercial development.
As part of the project, children’s play equipment made from tree trunks and recyclable wood was installed. Several trees and shrubs have also been planted. The garden is equipped with solar-powered lighting to make it more sustainable.
