Watch: Salvo Grima Group And Coast Is Clear Team Up To Plant 44 Maltese Trees

What better way to celebrate 165 years of work than by giving something back to Malta’s environment?
That’s exactly what the Salvo Grima Group did this weekend, as their team joined forces with local environmental NGO Coast Is Clear Foundation and The Alfred Mizzi Foundation to plant 44 indigenous Maltese trees in the beautiful parks of Pembroke.
Among the species planted were Maltese pine, ballut (oak), wild olive, cypress, and toya trees, each one carefully chosen to support local biodiversity and help restore Malta’s natural landscape.
Families, children, and even a few dogs, rolled up their sleeves to get their hands dirty, turning the tree-planting into a celebration of community, sustainability, and hope for the next generation.
“This is what counts, the real thing, making Malta green, healthier and giving our youths hope for a brighter future through action,” the organisers said.
This marks the first event in this winter’s tree-planting campaign, part of Coast Is Clear’s ongoing effort to make the island greener one sapling at a time.
With these new additions, the group’s total number of trees planted has now reached 648, and many more are on the way this winter!
