Young Maltese Wildlife Conservation Biologist Shares Some Insane Shots From South Africa

Article Featured Image

Meet Martina Busietta, the young Maltese woman living her best life while on her internship in South Africa with African Impact, a volunnteer organization which specialises in #volunteerabroad experiences in Africa for local communities & wildlife.

She is only 22-years-old and has a Masters in wildlife conservation biology. Now, she is working on a project with leopards (as you do).

We reached out to Martina who said: “Unfortunately, 25% of animals are currently at risk of extinction. When an animal’s population declines, this can have detrimental effects on the entire ecosystem. The biggest threat to wild animals is the human impact on their environment. I, therefore, feel it’s our responsibility to do all we can to reverse these negative impacts and protect the natural environment”.

Let’s just take a moment to look at the photos she has taken (you can clearly see her passion):

1. The snake whisperer

Yep, Just a casual afternoon with a snake.

2. Cuddling lions in Zimbabwe

The lion queen…?

3. Stunning surroundings

Can we trade places please…?

4. Elephant caressing…

#Goals

5. Casually chilling on top of one of the seven natural wonders of the world…

We’re not jealous at all

6. Oh my goodness

We’re internally screaming…

7. And she’s a cat lover…

Which means she’s good, people!

Tag an animal lover who’d love to be in Martina’s shoes right about now!
