Get your gloves ready as Żibel is back with another community clean-up, and this time they’re returning to Xemxija to finish what they started.

The event will take place on 1st November, as part of Żibel’s ongoing mission to protect Malta’s coastline and marine habitats.

Volunteers can join one of several teams depending on how they’d like to contribute. The Coast Team will be sorting and collecting waste along the shore, while Snorkelers will be helping to spot and collect debris from the surface.

For those with diving experience, advanced open water divers can also take part, with free air tanks provided by Dive Systems Malta. Diving equipment will be provided at no cost, and participants can sign up through Żibel’s website under the “clean-ups” section.

The meeting point can be found here, and participants are asked to sign up in advance via the registration form.

Żibel will be providing gloves, mesh bags, sunscreen, and lifting tools, all you need to bring is some energy and a willingness to make a difference.

With the success of the first Xemxija clean-up, the team says there’s still “unfinished business”, and they’re calling on Malta’s eco-warriors to join them for round two.
