Popular Maltese singer Aidan has been disqualified from the 2023 Malta Eurovision Song Contest, TVM has reported.

TVM reported that PBS has been notified by the Malta Eurovision Song Contest’s production team that Aidan had been disqualified for “breaching the festival’s rules”. It didn’t clarify which rules he is alleged to have broken.

Aidan finished in second place at last year’s Malta Eurovision Song Contest and was widely considered one of the favourites to win this year’s edition. His song Reġina was sung in three languages – Maltese, English and Spanish.
