Singer Amber Bondin Becomes Malta’s Answer To The Ghostbusters
We may not have a Marshmallow Man demon roaming Republic Street, but with a history as rich as that of the Maltese islands, local folklore was bound to spit out a ghost or two. Enter Malta Paranormal, a self-described team of paranormal investigators consisting of not four but seven ghostbusters, including Eurovision alumnus Amber Bondin.
Originally founded back in 2010 by lead investigator Charlo Sammut, the team have recently made the rounds on local television programmes, appearing on Skjetti and Xarabank.
Local views on the existence of spirits and whether or not to dabble in contact are deeply divided, but a long history of ghost stories and hauntings makes for good work. Mr Sammut explained that they have visited reputed hauntings both locally and abroad, and often use tools that they have manufactured themselves.
When not carting around local comedians from DANUSAN for a ghost hunt, the team is heading its latest venture: IUDICATUM (roughly translated from the Latin word for ‘investigating’).
IUDICATUM is set to be a monthly online show, allowing followers to join in on ghost hunts with the Malta Paranormal team. The first episode of IUDICATUM has already aired, investigating the haunting of the abandoned Fort de la Chartreuse in Belgium, which featured alleged electronic voice phenomena (EVP) picked up by the investigators, including the sound of a woman crying, and a voice saying “I’m gonna get you there”.
