Ukrainian singer Ruslana, renowned for winning the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest with the song ‘Wild Dances’, has endorsed Brooke ahead of tonight’s Malta Eurovision final.

“I was giving a listen to Brooke’s song, I must admit it has interesting sound and energy. I recommend you listen to it and support Brooke if you like it,” Ruslana said in an Instagram story.

“I don’t often follow national runnings. I don’t have the time to listen to and watch them. But as I was having such an opportunity, I want to share it with you too.”

Gerard James Borg, who helped compose Brooke’s song Checkmate, said he was “flattered” by Ruslana’s endorsement.

Brooke Borg is competing in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest for the first time since 2018 and is widely considered one of the favourites to win.

Her three previous Eurovision entries have all placed highly – finishing in second, third, and fourth place.

However, she is likely to face stiff competition tonight. A Lovin Malta poll, which 712 people have responded to as of the time of writing, has The Busker’s Dance (Our Own Party) in first place, Maxine Pace’s Alone second, and Brooke third.
