Everyone’s Favourite Purple Dragon Is Coming Back To Reignite Those Nostalgic Flames
Everybody get aboard the nostalgia train: Spyro the Dragon is back and looking better than ever.
The fire-breathing hero from the classic Sony Playstation games Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage! and Spyro: Year of the Dragon will be having his beloved trilogy remastered in HD with improved controls, and released for a new generation on the PlayStation 4.
The internet started losing it after Amazon Mexico officially listed the long-rumoured trilogy remaster on their website. Named ‘Spyro Reignited Trilogy, the boxset is set for a 21 September 2018 release – just in time for the Independence Day public holiday in Malta.
Amazon Mexico listed the boxset at 737 pesos, which comes to about €33, but we’ll have to see if this is the final price over the coming months.
Interestingly, the cover box art lists Toys For Bob as the remastered boxset’s developers. The same company is behind Skylanders and is currently porting the hugely popular Crash Bandicoot trilogy remaster to the Nintendo Switch.
Activision has yet to officially confirm that this remaster will be happening – but after Amazon Mexico’s leak, the chances are it most probably will be.
