Car lovers are in for a treat come early October, as Malta Classic will be hosting a rare Ferrari as part of its round-up of show-stopping cars making their way around the Mdina track.
Taking part in Malta Classic 2016 (October 6-9) the 250 GT Berlinetta SWB, which is just one of 176 examples built, is one of the most notable GT racers of all time, and the particular model that’s coming over to Malta was made in 1960. It’s been brought to our shores by Swiss driver Egon Hofer, in what is his second go at the event after having participated in 2007.
Formerly the Mdina Grand Prix, ‘Malta Classic’ will be undergoing something of a rebranding exercise this time around, but it appears they won’t be skimping on the cars themselves either, and the Ferrari 250 GT should be one of the feathers in its cap.
This year, the event will welcome over 70 participants from England, Italy, France, Malta and Switzerland with such classics as a 1935 Talbot 105 and a 1953 Alfa Romeo 1900C Sprint by Touring. A variety of other notable makes will also be part of the mix, among them the Riley, Alvis, Jaguar and Lancia.
