20 Hot AF Festival Trends We Saw At Lost And Found 2017

This weekend just kicked off the start to the worldwide festival season, with California’s Coachella in the Colorado Desert, and AMP Lost and Found on our very own shores.
From what we’ve seen, the party goers had an absolute blast living it up in Malta by the pool at Café Del Mar and raving at the Red Tower— and their festival wardrobes were something else to say the least!
From zany swimwear to high-tech sportswear, these guys seem to be a few steps ahead in the festival wardrobe department. Check out our pick of the bunch from some of the hottest festival trends we’ve seen so far.
1. Punchy Patches
Update your trusty denim jacket with some iron-on funky fabric patches. We love this oversized bumble bee one! Check out your local haberdashery or eBay for similar styles and get buzzin’.
2. Eighties Windbreakers
Lightweight synthetic windbreakers are great for festivals. They come in handy when it gets cooler in the evening and they’re thin enough to tie round your waist or stuff into your bag – perfect!
3. Diamond Diva
If you can’t dress like ‘Palm Beach Barbie Goes To Hollywood’ at a pool party then where can you? We love the fun factor seen in this look, and can’t wait to get our hands on some synthetic jewels to start customising our swimwear!
4. Glitterati Girls
Damn, them Brits sure like glitter! Use some Vaseline in your hair parting to keep glitter in place, or hairspray to apply body glitter to larger areas for that shimmery update on the “fell asleep in the sand” look.
5. Hats ‘N’ Tats
Looks like the new place to keep your bandana is hanging out the back of your snapback instead of your back pocket, American street gang style… Good to know! We’re also digging the old skool tattoos. Nice.
6. Berry Nice
Apart from the awesome “space-bun” hairstyle we just can’t get enough of, we love this purpley makeup look paired with even more glitter. Look out for lilac eyeshadow shades and plum coloured dark lipstick. So flattering!
7. Prints Charming
These vintage printed shorts sleeved shirts were kind of the unofficial men’s uniform at Lost & Found it seems – and we can see why! Bring the fun factor to the party in your own; check out Asos Marketplace or even charity shops.
8. Signature Sunnies
We can’t get over these personalised mirrored sunglasses with teeny alphabet beads stuck on to spell out the festival name. We might just order a pair for Earth Garden coming up!
9. Blingin’ Bikinis
Metallic swimwear doesn’t seem to be going anywhere fast! Nothing says “look at me” like a flashy gold bikini, and paired with these cool oversized round sunnies, it’s the perfect take on 60s Bondgirl Glam.
10. Retro Frames
Even more retro shades as seen on DJs Flava D and Annie Mac herself! We want Annie’s gold hexagonal framed Ray Bans, like now. And her green nail polish – the perfect manicure for spinning those bangers. #SlayQueen
11. Braid Gang
We’re lovin the fact this group of friends went all out with matching braids! They seem to have plaited pastel extensions into their pigtails too. Now that’s what we call Squad Goals…
12. Flower Power
This floral one-piece might just be the raddest swimming costume we’ve seen so far! The retro-curtain style print is brought up to date with the help of extreme off-the shoulder flounciness. And that silvery hair toner and complimentary makeup is bang on fleek.
13. Neon Knights
These guys look like they enjoyed one hell of a stag-do, and while we’re still undecided about the hotpants, we’re 100% down with the retro 70s sportstar look. And that Wham! tribute t-shirt is the epitome of Club Tropicana cool.
14. Baseball Babe
We’re digging the idea of a vintage baseball shirt worn as a bikini cover-up, and with abs like that, we can see why you’d want to make the most of your workout. Ten points for pairing with casual basketball shorts and bringing court-side chic to the poolside!
15. Extraterrestrial Makeup
Wow, that’s some serious dedication to the rave! This detailed diamanté look looks stunning for both day and night if you wanna go all out. Look for self-adhesive gems to save you the fiddly glue part! Check out Flying Tiger for similar jazzy jewels.
16. Lacy Ladies
Kardashian-esque lace-up necklines hit the big time last summer, and looks like the look is here to stay well into 2017. This time though, the lace-up trend is that extra bit sexier, with lower cuts meaning extra lacing!
17. Futuristic Fun
If your best friend doesn’t agree to dress up like a Space Raver from Mars with you then is she really your best friend? These girls look fierce in their Suxceed swimwear, fishnet holdups and holographic accessories!
18. Rainbow Cossies
Make like a rainbow this summer and find the most colourful swimming costume you can! These 80s cuts are super flattering, we love the off-the-shoulder look. Also, could that tassely belt be the new sarong? We’ll have to wait and see.
19. Fluorescent Friends
The perfect shade of bubblegum pink and a sunset hued cut-out costume that reminds us of a perfectly made Sex On The Beach cocktail! Pair with a dinky 90s backpack and chunky heels to top up the look.
20. Mermaid Metallics
Ahhhhh the old favourite! Forget being the Belle of the Ball, Ariel is the undisputed Disney princess pro when it comes to summer festivals. Stay young at heart by playing dress-up, and mermaid-up to get down this season!
