“Being a hero means having high expectations for a better world, and being faced with the worst of it.”
No, that’s not some Tumblr-inspired quote for people who try desperately to see good in this world. That’s actually part of the concept behind a brand new Maltese clothing brand that embodies exactly that in their title alone.
This is Dying Heroes
“it’s a wacky yet realistic take on a very confusing and misinterpreted topic, because being a hero hurts like fuck.”
As their name suggests, Dying Heroes take the idea of what might be seen as unstoppable caped crusaders and puts into the real-life perspective of the short-lived and drugged-up lifestyles of a rock star. As they put it themselves, “it’s a wacky yet realistic take on a very confusing and misinterpreted topic, because being a hero hurts like fuck.”
Dying Heroes is the latest among numerous other ongoing projects between Clayvon Pace and Karl Sciberras, also including the invaluable inclusion of Samwel Mallia (from the bands Eyes to Argus and Massacre House Party) as the illustrator of these amazing designs.
The trio do all the legwork for this homegrown clothing brand, but their dedication and hard work seems to very easily equal that of a much larger staff. Extremely humble about the whole affair, they’ve admitted that they’d much rather let the designs speak for themselves.
Even though Dying Heroes has only been officially around in public for a month, they’ve already amassed quite the stock of t-shirts and hoodies up for sale in their online store. And with designs that cool, we’d recommend getting your hands on them before they run out!
