Clothing Franchises That We Desperately Need To See In Malta

Article Featured Image

It’s our curse. For all the positive and incredible advantages there are to live on an beautiful island in the Mediterranean, the shopping is not one of them. Yes we’ve got great franchises that came over, but we’re greedy. We want them all, and we want them now. Because no one should be expected to wait for shipping, even if it only is a couple of days.

Here’s our list of six major clothing franchises we wish would come to Malta.

1. H&M

It’s the shop all of us run to the moment we’re shopping abroad. This Swedish franchise has taken over the world, operating in 62 different countries with over 4,500 stores, we’re praying for it to open one in Malta next.

Probably the saddest thing is at the moment their official online store does not deliver to Malta, unless you subscribe to a posting forwarding system (which takes even more time – and money).

For now, it looks like we’re going to have to keep praying on this one.

2. Primark

You’re already able to find at least one Maltese person at any Primark store across London, shouting in fury or excitement at the cheap clothes. Bringing it down to the island is the obvious next step.

Imagine the queues. Imagine the discarded clothes littering the isles. Concentrate hard enough, and you’ll be able to see the tears forming in the shop assistants’ eye as they are continually harassed by disgruntled customers trying to find their perfect size socks.

But those cheap prices though…

3. Abercrombie & Fitch / Hollister

Sure the clothes are ok, but the real reason we want this franchise to show up in Malta is for the model. The topless guys with the chiselled abs, and the bikini ready girls greeting us at the entrance would be quite the sight to see chilling outside a shop in Valletta or Sliema.

A franchise with fantastic summer clothes and its distinct perfume, the only negative thing about this store showing up is that you and all your friends will always be wearing the same clothes.

4. Victoria’s Secret

This American designer, manufacturer and marketer of woman’s lingerie is a global phenomenon that’s desperately needed in Malta.

With some of the biggest celebrities and models endorsing, and showcasing the products, we’re sure that there would be many Maltese ladies keen to get their hands on anything Victoria’s Secret has to offer.

5. Footlocker

American sportswear and footwear retailer, yes please. Offering its customers some of the newest, most unique, and hype footwear, of brands like Nike, Adidas, Vans, Champion, Timberland, Under Armour, and many more.

Footlocker would be a great addition to the island, helping us up our sneaker game to the delight of the employees in their referee outfits.

6. Burberry

Yes ,we are aware this is a bit on the pricey side, but really it was between Burberry, Prada and Louis Vuitton, and you know what, we deserve it. We should be able to spend literally all our money on a scarf, bag or clothing item.

We know it’s wrong and we should be saving but that classic Burberry design will have us counting out pennies, and throwing them at the shop assistant.
