Thrift shopping has been well on the rise – and for good reason too!

Besides generating a riotous $2 trillion a year, the fashion industry generates tonnes of waste and carbon dioxide emissions, both of which are detrimental in the face of an ever-worsening climate crisis.

So, in light of this, Lovin Malta has compiled a nifty list of places to get your thrift on with second-hand finds.

1. TaylorMaid Vintage (Sliema)

A new vintage store has hit The Strand in Sliema, and it goes by TaylorMaid Vintage. They’re selling unique thrifts, vintage pieces and even some cool clothing reworks by its founder Laura, this is definitely a place worth checking out.

2. MSPCA  (Mosta, San Ġwann and Sliema)

The MSPCA charity shops, previously known as Paws 4 A Cause, can be found in Mosta, San Gwann and Sliema. The earnings from this charity shop go towards MSPCA which is a non-profit organisation that works towards the safeguarding and protection of animals.

3. Inspire, (Ħamrun, Marsaskala, Birżebbuġa and Victoria, Gozo)

5. Il-Lokal Vintage (Valletta)

A new exciting venture has arrived — Il-Lokal and Lady Kitt Vintage have launched Il-Lokal Vintage, bringing deliciously preloved, handpicked vintage pieces to the Capital of Valletta.

6. Happy Paws  (St. Venera and Marsaskala)

Happy Paws charity organisation was founded in 2004 and provides free neutering for strays in their own veterinary clinic. The organisation is financed through the two charity shops, sponsors, and donations, so be sure to support their cause!

7. Hugs Charity Shop (Mosta)

Found in a little residential street in Mosta, this charity shop offers a wide variety of clothes, all donated for the sake of re-using. Apart from that, they also have a massive wall of books, from old to new, already at your disposal. The proceeds go towards Animal Welfare and any other organisations in need.
