A Maltese fashion designer who recently finished her studies abroad just got her work featured in a London-based magazine.

Maya Mifsud, who recently opened a shop in Valletta, spent the last couple of years studying fashion abroad, having graduated last August with a BA in Fashion Design and Marketing.

Not only did she get her work featured in the 30 Fashion Street magazine, but her graduation collection photoshoot also got chosen for the front cover.

“I was amazed and extremely appreciative, it gave me an amazing ending and closure after my five-year journey of studying. Having also the garment I put months of work put on the cover page of a magazine that will be promoted worldwide, is overall a very fullfilling feeling,” Maya told Lovin Malta.

Speaking with the newsroom, Maya described her work as “cute but provocative”, and revealed that her new Spring/Summer collection is launching in March.

“DoubleM is currently working on many exciting new projects and collaborations and can’t wait to launch!”

“I am now focusing on developing my own fashion label DoubleM with production made all in Malta but aiming to target a wider clientele one day. The identity of the brand (and myself) is very much the colour pink however not all garments will be pink!” she said.
