As hopefuls from all around the island begin their voyage towards being crowned Miss Malta 2018, the first weekly challenge has been revealed. And boy is it something else.

The challenge consisted of the models posing for different photos, all with very specific themes. “A city or country which fascinates me” seems to have been the assignment, but some of the photos have already raised some eyebrows.

Within minutes of posting the photos, the Miss Malta official Facebook page put out a disclaimer that “all models sorted out their photos from beginning till the end”, going on to say that the official photographers were not involved.

8. The actual pièce de résistance: Miss Mtarfa. Doing Afghanistan. By standing behind a tree. Holding a gun.
