Natalia Galea Wins Miss World Malta With Dress Inspired By National Maltese Bird And Flower

Natalia Galea pledged to do her “absolute best” to win Miss World after being chosen to represent Malta at the international beauty pageant last night.
“I promise that I will represent our country to the best of my ability and I will do my absolute best to keep the crown in Europe,” Natalia said on Instagram after her victory was announced. “The journey continues.”
Natalia, who hails from Santa Venera, was crowned Miss World Malta at a pageant at Fort St Elmo last night, succeeding Naomi Dingli.
Amy Spiteri finished in second place, with Pearl Maria Micallef placing third.
The model, who had already won Miss Supranational Malta in 2018, dazzled judges with her dress on the night, which she said was inspired by Maltese flora and fauna.
“The dress is a fusion of the national soul of Malta,” Natalia said prior to the event.
“The top part is bead embroidered with the wings of the national bird: the blue rock thrush making it a perfect symbol to soar success and freedom.”
“On the other hand, the skirt is a handcrafted glass bead fringes imitating the National Flower Maltese Centaury depicting the blossoming of new beginnings. This is a union of fashion and history.”
