Ribelljoni: A Bold New Voice In Fashion Makes Its Debut

Ribelljoni, an alternative fashion show that breaks stereotypes, champions sustainability, celebrates diversity and rewrites the rules of the runway, made its debut this month bringing together a vibrant mix of vintage curators, thrift stores and small local designers for an amazing night of community, style and rebellion.

For its first edition, held at Tigullio Rocky Valley Garden, Ribelljoni partnered with Flokk, Taylor Maid Vintage, Shanti, L’otoole and Urban Thrift, bringing their unique fashion to the runway, showcasing a raw and powerful collection of looks that blend past and present.

Ribelljoni means “rebellion” and was born out of a desire to disrupt and create space. “It isn’t just a fashion show, it’s a movement” with creativity, sustainability and the freedom to be unapologetically yourself at the heart of its cause.

True to its name, the show rejected mainstream beauty standards and industry elitism. Models of all shapes, sizes, backgrounds and identities stepped into the spotlight to remind the audience that “beauty is not a mold, but a mosaic.”

Be it upcycled glamour or handmade garments, the looks showcased authentic self-expression. Designers and curators walked the runway with their creations with an ultimate goal of demonstrating that fashion doesn’t need to conform to norms or trends to make a statement.

The night didn’t just end there; after the catwalk, attendees had the chance to take a look and pick up some of their favourite pieces at a curated market, successfully bridging the gap between the art of fashion and everyday accessibility.

And to end the night with a bang, an after-party with music by DJ Aura, pulsed with the same energy of rebellion, resistance and celebration that defined the event as a whole.

Ribelljoni also collaborated with some MCAST fashion students who joined the team, assisting in styling and modeling which helped them gain hands-on experience and mentorship in the evergrowing world of fashion, aiming to empower the next generation of creatives and reinforcing Ribelljoni’s mission to build a stronger, more connected and inclusive community from the ground up.

Ribelljoni’s first edition was a major success and plans are already brewing for the next one.  “This is just the beginning of a revolution in fashion, one where everyone has a seat at the table and a place on the runway.”
