Just in time for Christmas shopping, the moment we have all been waiting for has finally arrived. Sliema’s Zara will finally be opening the new, improved and significantly larger version of its complex tomorrow morning at 9:30am!

The team at PG Group (who own the franchise and also 49% of Pama supermarkets) have been working mega hard (and spent millions) to ensure that everything is perfect for the ribbon-cutting of the new store, with photos shared in the last weeks showing works going on till late at night.

Spread over 4,400 square metres, the five-storey behemoth will feature two floors dedicated to womenswear, one for men, one for Zara Home and one for the bambinos. Never mind it being one of the largest stores on the island; this one’s set on breaking continental records!

In fact, in an interview with Malta Chamber last year, PG Group CEO Charles Borg had said that the €4.2 million expansion of the outlet will see Zara Sliema becoming “one of the largest stores in Europe”.

“There will be seven floors in all,” Borg explained, highlighting the fact that two entire storeys will be solely dedicated to storage. “We have had a lot of input from engineers and architects at Inditex (the international company that owns the Zara brand). I must also compliment our project team which worked tirelessly and within very tight deadlines to ensure that we open the new store before the Christmas season. All the technology in store will be new, with visuals beamed in directly from Spain. It will be a very modern store.”
