Festa Fever! Here Are The Seven Village Feasts Happening Around Malta This Weekend

Festa enthusiasts are spoilt for choice, with seven village feasts being held around the Maltese islands this weekend.
We know the whens, so we’ve put together the wheres and a little bit about what to expect from each festa. Take your pick.
1. St. Anne, Marsaskala
This festa celebrates the patron saint of Marsaskala, St Anne, and is usually on the last Sunday of July.
The statue of St Anne is the work of artist Ferdinando Steuflesser and was sculpted in wood soon after the Second World War. It depicts St Anne together with a small statue of Mary as a child.
2. Our Lady Of Sorrows, St Paul’s Bay
3. Christ The King, Paola
Known for its fireworks, decorative lighting and gigifogu.
4. Our Lady Of Mount Carmel, Balluta
Balluta’s neo-gothic church stands out from the usual styles you’d find in Malta and makes for one spectacular festival, especially when decorated for a festa.
5. Santa Venera, Santa Venera
The streets decorations of Santa Venera’s festa make for some very instagrammable photos.
