Former 17th Century Palazzo Is Now Officially Valletta’s First 5-Star Boutique Hotel
Valletta’s first 5-star boutique hotel officially opened its doors in Valletta last night.
Rosselli is named after Pietro Rosselli, a well-established goldsmith and philanthropist who used to live in the building back in the 1600s and took the traditional Renaissance style of the Casa and infused it with his contemporary perspectives.
The hotel’s architecture still incorporates the classical lines of Renaissance architecture and the more florid early Baroque styles, resulting in a fine and distinguished finish to the hotel that we see today.

The hotel was officially launched last night by Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, who hailed it as an example of how Malta has managed to tap into the luxury tourism niche in recent years.
“Malta has upped its game when it comes to tourism as we’re now not only aiming for higher numbers but also for much better quality,” he said.
The hotel was developed by AX Hotels with a €15 million investment and features twenty different rooms, each offering a unique style and experience.
