10 Tips for Getting Started In Lost Ark

Article Featured Image

Like any massively multiplayer online game, starting up Lost Ark can leave you a little overwhelmed.

You’ll probably wonder what items to use, what class to pick, how to allocate your skill points and which resources you should keep.

Well, you’re in luck, because we’re here to break down the ten essential tips for getting started in the game plus some handy-dandy Lost Ark boosting services.

1. Experiment

There are fifteen classes in Lost Ark, so landing the class for you is unlikely to happen on your first try.

It’s worth experimenting with all the classes when you start the game. This will allow you to find a class which best suits your playstyle before you get too attached to any character.

While you can take some community sentiment into account here, it’s also worth picking up a character you like the feel of. After all, you’re here to have fun for now.

If you want to become a true Lost Ark wiz, you’re going to be making multiple characters down the road anyway.

Worst comes to worst if you do choose the wrong class, you can always get back to speed on a new character in a fraction of the time with the help of some Lost Ark boosting services or even purchasing Lost Ark gold.

2. Do both side and main quests

Many side quests take about a minute to complete, making them feel somewhat useless to progressing the story, but don’t take this as a sign to skip them. If you skip them, you may quickly become under levelled which can lead to a punishing experience in Lost Ark.

So, make sure you’re doing as many side quests as you can while you go about the main story. This will keep you powerful and on track.

3. Only attack who you need to

Unlike some games, enemies in Lost Ark drop basically no XP points. If a player went around and killed every single opponent on every map, they probably wouldn’t gain enough XP for a single level.

This means you should only attack who you need to, as this will allow you to keep progressing without needing to waste resources. The Lost Ark boosting services can also help with getting some XP.

4. Resetting skill points is free

Unlike other games, you can reset your skill points at any time for absolutely no cost. There are no cash-grab shop items and no in-game hoops to jump through to do it.

This means if you’re not enjoying your current specs, you can try out a different build, and you have the option to go back at any time.

You can also save any presets that you like, to switch between on the fly.

5. Visit rapport NPCs every day

Lost Ark’s endgame is a lot about the Rapport system, so it’s good to give yourself a head start.

Around the world, you’ll quickly find plenty of non-playable characters with hearts around them, who can be interacted with to gain rapport. This will see you give them gifts, play music and more.

You can gain rapport from each one daily, so if you are a dedicated player logging on every day, it’s worth giving yourself the rapport boost by visiting these characters every single day.

6. Don’t waste time, use triports to travel

Let’s face it, backtracking on foot can be a real headache. That’s why Triports exist.

While you’re starting out these may seem too expensive, given that they take some Silver, but let’s be honest, you can get that silver back in no time.

So, save yourself the hassle and get back to the fun of actually playing the game and travel using Triports. If you’re strapped for cash, purchasing Lost Ark gold is an easy fix.

7. Use healing potions (but only flat ones)

After picking up some health potions, you’ll quickly notice there are two types: one which restores a specific amount of health (known as flats) and one which restores a percentage of your health (known as percentage potions).

Flats really depend on your max health to see if they are useful or not. Those you pick up while you’re levelling will be relevant to your current level’s max health and won’t be so useful for endgame content. So, we’d recommend using them as you go.

There are plenty of potion hoarders out there who will never use a potion. Don’t do that. Seriously, you can shave hours off the early-mid game by using flat health potions, so use them liberally when you need them, you’ll find more later on anyways.

8. Save your phoenix plumes

Phoenix Plumes—known by most as feathers—allow you to revive at the same spot after dying.

While these can be tempting to use in the early game, while you’re getting the hang of everything, it’s advisable to keep these for the late game.

This is because, although you start with a plentiful supply of feathers, they quickly become quite rare. Even if you buy them from the in-game store.

9. Open and use cards

Cards are shared by all characters on your account, but they can be intimidating to use for new players who think they may not be doing it right or getting the most out of them. Don’t worry about that. They’re really not that important, but they can be very helpful in the early game.

So, once you have a few, play around with them and equip them. You’ll get better gear later on anyway.

10. Try dungeons on hard difficulty

Dungeons are incredibly fun, but they can become a cakewalk on normal difficulty. Especially if you’re with a party who knows what they’re doing.

It’s worth trying out dungeons on hard difficulty. Not only because they can be a lot more fun, but they can also bless you with far better loot, powering you up in the process.

Now that you know our top ten tips to mastering Lost Ark, including boosting services and purchasing gold, all that’s left to do is power up your PC and get cracking.
