Global Superstar Will.I.Am Flies Maltese Violinist Out To Cannes For A Special Performance

Nadine Galea has been hard at work showcasing her musical talents around Europe for years now, even performing for the Queen of England in Buckingham Palace. However, her talent was recognised by none other than will.i.am, the frontman of global superstars Black Eyed Peas and quite the tech entrepreneur in his own right.

“A few days ago we were flown to Cannes by will.i.am and his team to perform at a star-studded event with him, can’t go into much detail about the event or the attendees, but it was pretty epic to perform for artists whose music I grew up listening to, with some of my favourite people,” Nadine posted on Facebook after the unforgettable show.

‘While we were performing he was constantly shouting ‘Yeeeeeah”

Nadine’s group performed right before will.i.am in Cannes, getting a front row seat to his show. But Nadine clearly remembers the first time she noticed will.i.am and his enthusiasm for her work.

“While we were performing he was constantly shouting “Yeeeeeah” and bobbing his head, then when we finished he came to up to us shook our hands and said ‘you guys are absolutely brilliant, really enjoyed it. The arrangements and all, superb’,” Nadine told Lovin Malta of the first time he saw them perform.

At this point, she hadn’t recognised who he was. When he showed up for a second and third time to see them perform, then she realised who she was dealing with.

“A couple of times later his whole team were there with him, and they asked us if we wanted to perform in Cannes,” she said – and it was all history from there.

Nadine is proud to have been noticed by such a world-class musician

After her successful performance in Cannes and the interest he took in her music, Nadine has a newfound respect for the American musician.

“It’s an honour that a musician so successful recognises your years of hard work and creativity,” she said. “Because he’s not just a singer, but actually a highly recognised producer that has produced lots of other big artists that people might not be aware of.”
