One of Malta’s most popular DJs celebrated his 40th birthday in style last night, bringing together some of Malta’s top electronic musicians in one room.

J Joy, the DJ you’ve nearly definitely partied to in Malta at some point in your life, had a super surprise party thrown for him at the newly opened beach club Omnia by Medasia at Qui-Si-Sana – and judging from the line-up, some of Malta’s biggest and most classic DJs just had to be there.

Apart from J Joy dropping some beats himself, there were also the likes of DJ Ruby, DJ Ziggy, DJ Alvin Gee, as well as some of the most prominent singers that J Joy has worked with in his career.

Joy was given a very special surprise when Marcella Woods, a singer who successfully collaborated with Joy on the hit track Me To You, opened the party up with a personal rendition of Beautiful and a sparkle show, which got everyone onto the dancefloor as the music really started pumping.

The event was masterminded by his wife Lisa Fino together with Claire Galea of Sweet Chilli Events – and judging from the pictures, it looks like Joy enjoyed every second of it.
